Lewisburg, West Virginia
is the county seat of Greenbrier County and one of the oldest towns in West Virginia. With a population of 3,900, it is the largest municipality in Greenbrier County. Lewisburg was recently named in the “Top 100 Best Small Art Towns in America” and is home to many fine artists and craftsmen. Established in 1792, Lewisburg has a 236-acre National Register Historic District containing 18th & 19th century buildings and homes of historic and architectural significance. The town of Lewisburg boasts the Oakhurst Links; the first organized golf club in the United States. Besides tourism and art galleries, the main industries in Lewisburg are farming, logging, manufacturing and retail.
